Art Fair Philippines explains steep increase to ticket price of 2024 edition
Art Fair Philippines (AFP) announced earlier this week that a ticket to the art event this year will now cost P750.
Many complained at the steep price increase — last year's AFP only cost P450.
Speaking to GMA News Online, AFP said the price increase ensures that "we’re still able to continue to provide a platform for showcasing Filipino modern and contemporary art and for art lovers to immerse in a wide range of artistic expressions."
"We're transforming The Link carpark into a massive 13,000sqm exhibition space spread across five floors. The costs for setting up this space, constructing it from scratch, and other fair components have bumped up, post pandemic," it said in a statement sent to GMA News Online.
The P750-ticket gives visitors access to 55 participating galleries as well as all the offerings in store this year like Digital, Film, Photo, and Projects.
"Plus, we've planned a comprehensive Talks program open to all fair visitors," Art Fair Philippines said in its statement.
Apart from the P750 regular day pass to Art Fair Philippines 2024, PWDs, seniors, and students can get tickets for P500. Makati Students and Teachers can get tickets for P300.
