Philippine bet Michelle Arceo is a ‘queen of flowers’ for Reina Hispanomericana 2023 National Costume

Philippine bet Michelle Arceo channeled her inner “flower goddess” for the national costume competition at the Reina Hispanoamericana 2023 stage.

On Instagram, the Filipina beauty queen shared a closer look at her national costume, inspired by the rare waling-waling orchid of the Philippines.

Michelle said her national costume, designed by Chino Christopherson, embodies the essence of the “Queen of Philippine Flowers.”

She added the national costume draws “inspiration from the vibrance of carnivals and the intricate details of Victoria’s Secret fashion show wings.”

It features a bodysuit adorned with iridescent rhinestones, crystals, and Japan-cut beads. It is also adorned with tassel accents and raindrop acrylic stones that elegantly capture the uniqueness of the Waling-Waling.

Meanwhile, her floral back as well as her headpiece featured spray-painted large orchids, mimicking the realistic beauty of the Waling-Waling.

“This costume not only reflects the magnificence of the Waling-Waling but also pays homage to the biodiversity and cultural richness of my country. It’s a proud representation of our heritage, showcasing the beauty of our culture, flora, and fauna on the global stage,” she shared.

Before being named Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas 2023, she also represented the country in the Miss Environment International pageant in 2022 and received the Miss Ecosystem title and the Best in Environmental Video Award.

Michelle flew to Bolivia last week for the upcoming Reina Hispanoamericana coronation night, which is happening on January 28 (January 29 in Manila).

The Philippines first won the Reina Hispanoamericana crown in 2017 by Kapuso celebrity Winwyn Marquez.
