'Firefly' wins Best Picture in Metro Manila Film Festival 2023

"Firefly" is the Best Picture for Metro Manila Film Festival 2023!

During the Gabi ng Parangal on Wednesday, "Firefly" bested the nine other films vying for the coveted award.

"Gomburza" won the second Best Picture, followed by "Mallari" and "When I Met You in Tokyo."

"Firefly," an offering from GMA Pictures, also won the Best Screenplay award.

Directed by Zig Dulay, the film follows a young boy who is in a quest to find the magical island of fireflies from his mother's stories.

It stars Euwenn Mikaell, Alessandra De Rossi, Dingdong Dantes, Miguel Tanfelix, Ysabel Ortega, Epy Quizon, and Yayo Aguila.

Mikaell won the Best Child Performer at MMFF 2023. De Rossi was nominated for Best Supporting Actress while Dantes and Quizon were nominated for Best Supporting Actor.
