Reggae singer Kokoi Baldo has passed away

Reggae singer Kokoi Baldo has passed away.

On his official Facebook page Friday, his manager and wife Sam broke the news saying the singer passed away early this morning.

"He will be missed, loved and forever in our hearts," the note said.

Asking for "privacy during this hard time in respect to his family and friends," Sam promised to post updates if any on Kokoi's Facebook page..

"Thank you for understanding."

While Sam didn't mention the cause of Kokoi's death, initial reports say he figured in a vehicular accident in Bacolod City.

Sam's later update corroborates the reports as she requested people to "take down the posts pertaining to my husband, Kokoi Baldo's accident scene as it is already causing distress to our entire family."

"If you see any posts of the said accident, please ask the owner of the post to delete," Sam added before thanking Kokoi's followers for understanding.

Kokoi, 44, was a finalist in The Voice season 2.
