Vina Morales makes Broadway debut in 'Here Lies Love'

Vina Morales just made her Broadway debut with her first show as Aurora Aquino in "Here Lies Love."

On Instagram, the 47-year-old singer-actress shared a video containing short clips of her performance, her bow, and some photos.

"My Broadway debut was magical. You made it all magical, I am overwhelmed by the love and amazing reviews," Vina said.

"I made it to Broadway! Yeay! A dream come true and another checked on my bucket list," she added. Now [I] can say I am a Broadway Actor  to God be the Glory."

Vina also expressed her gratitude to the cast, production team, and producers.

"Thank you all for the love and for welcoming me with love and positive energy. I can feel it in the room when you raised a welcome toast for me! I was in tears of joy," she said.

Vina replaced Lea Salonga as Aurora Aquino in "Here Lies Love." The Tony award-winning theater star encouraged her to audition for the role.

Vina said she will perform until October 22 for 31 more shows.

"Here Lies Love" is Broadway's first musical with an all-Filipino cast. Among its cast members include Jose Llana and Conrad Ricamora, who play former president Ferdinand Marcos and former senator Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino.

The show is also produced by Filipino personalities like H.E.R., Jo Koy, Jose Antonio Vargas, and Clint Ramos.
