Vina Morales to make Broadway debut, replace Lea Salonga in 'Here Lies Love'

Vina Morales is set to make her Broadway debut!

In the "Today's Talk" segment of "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda," the host confirmed that the veteran actress is set to star in the Broadway musical "Here Lies Love" as Aurora Aquino, the character that Lea Salonga played in earlier shows.

"Vina got a call from them, at sinabing, 'Would you be interested [in doing] self-shoot audition for 'Here Lies Love?' Sa madaling salita, nakapasa po,” the King of Talk narrated.

"She worked hard, and Vina was profuse with gratitude for Lea Salonga for guiding her doon sa audition," he added.

According to Boy, Vina is familiar with "Here Lies Love" directors because she auditioned for the musical 10 years ago.

On Instagram, Vina posted about her character's announcement through a joint post with the "Here Lies Love" official account.

In the comment section, Lea Salonga welcomed Vina to the "Here Lies Love" family.

"Yahooooooooo!!!!!!!! Welcome to the fam, Vina!!! We are all super excited!!!" she commented.

Vina will play the role of Aurora Aquino on "Here Lies Love" from September 22 to October 22.

Vina Morales appeared on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda last Thursday where she dropped hints about a huge career move! So great to hear it's now official!
