Dolly de Leon named Best Supporting Actress in Cinemalaya 2023


Dolly de Leon was named the Best Supporting Actress at this year's Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival on Sunday.

The veteran actress played a mother in the film "Iti Mapukpukaw," which won the Best Film.

According to Dolly, this is the first time she won an award in the Philippines.

"Grabe, first time ko makatanggap at magsalita ng award dito sa Pilipinas. Ang sarap pala ng feeling!" she said after receiving her Balanghai Trophy.

Aside from "Iti Mapukpukaw," Dolly also starred in the Cinemalaya entry "Ang Duyan ng Magiting," which won the Special Jury Prize.

Dolly's career has been on a roll since she starred in "Triangle of Sadness." She picked up historic nominations for Best Supporting Actress in the Golden Globes and the BAFTAs.
