Mikoy Morales wins Cinemalaya Best Actor award for 'Tether'


Mikoy Morales won the Best Actor Award at the Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival on Sunday.

The Sparkle actor portrayed Eric, an arrogant playboy in the film "Tether" directed by Gian Arre.

Mikoy was emotional after receiving his Balanghai trophy on stage, but he managed to thank Direk Gian, the film's intimacy facilitator, acting coach Ana Feleo, and his family and friends.

"This really means so much to me, this community, this industry," he said.

 Meanwhile, Pat Tingjuy was hailed as the Best Actress for her performance in "Rookie."

Dolly de Leon bagged the Best Supporting Actress award for "Iti Mapukpukaw" and Bon Andrew Lentejas took home the Best Supporting Actor award for "Huling Palabas."
