'Here Lies Love' cast rocks Filipiniana couture aboard a jeepney in New York

The “Here Lies Love” cast wore traditional Filipiniana attire and they looked stunning!

Photos posted on the musical's Instagram page showed the all-Filipino cast posing aboard a jeepney outdoors in New York City. The actors rocked various styles of Filipino wear, such as printed barongs, ternos with cut-outs, and puffy butterfly sleeves — proving that Filipino fashion is truly colorful.

“Here Lies Love” opened at the Broadway Theater on July 20. It tells the story of Filipina first lady Imelda Marcos and the country’s history under her power.

Lea Salonga debuted as a producer of the musical . She also plays Aurora Aquino, mother of Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino, for a limited run until August 13.

Filipino-American award-winning musician H.E.R. is also a producer .
