Olivia Rodrigo becomes the first Filipino-American on the cover of Vogue US

Olivia Rodrigo made history once again, this time as the first Filipino-American to grace the cover of Vogue US.

She appeared in a silver dress on the cover of the magazine’s August issue, and wore chic mini skirts and various tops in the inside pages.

Olivia’s cover story was written by Filipino author and writer Jia Tolentino, where the singer-songwriter talked about entering her 20s, getting older and wiser, self-discovery, and the new chapters in her life.

On social media, Jia said "Olivia is impossibly lovely and it’s a gift to get to be a Filipino writer profiling a Filipino superstar for the cover of Vogue."

She added, "yes we obviously talked about how all Filipinos can SING!!"

In the comment section, Olivia she was "so happy we could meet and gush over karaoke and halloumi eggs."

Olivia has been teasing new music since January and will be releasing her second album “GUTS” in September.

Her first single from the album, “Vampire,” was released in June.

Her debut album “SOUR” became a top hit with songs like “drivers license” and “good 4 u.” She went on her first tour in support of the album last year and also performed with Billy Joel in Madison Square Garden.

At the 2022 Grammys, Olivia was nominated for seven awards, and won Best New Artist, Best Pop Vocal Album for “SOUR,” and Best Pop Solo Performance for “drivers license.” She was also named the 2022 Billboard Woman of the Year.
