Dolly de Leon invited to join the Academy

Dolly de Leon has been invited to become a member of the 2023 Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

The Academy listed at least 398 invitees on Wednesday, including actors Ke Huy Quan, Austin Butler, Selma Blair, and more.

Taylor Swift, The Weeknd, and Keke Palmer also made it to the list.

"The Academy is proud to welcome these artists and professionals into our membership," Academy CEO Bill Kramer and Academy President Janet Yang said in a statement.

"They represent extraordinary global talent across cinematic disciplines and have made a vital impact on the arts and sciences of motion pictures and on movie fans worldwide," he added.

On Twitter, GMA News Online Hollywood columnist Janet Susan R. Nepales broke the news, to which Dolly replied.

"Intense!" The Filipina actress exclaimed.

Dolly is on a roll. In December, she made history by being the first Filipina to be nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture for “Triangle of Sadness.” She was also nominated for a BAFTA and attended the Oscars.

Earlier this month, she was announced as a new cast member of the second season of “Nine Perfect Strangers.”
