Therese Malvar explains how she is related to Jose Rizal and General Miguel Malvar

Therese Malvar isn't just related to Jose Rizal, the Kapuso actress is also related to General Miguel Malvar.

On "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" Friday, Therese explained how she is related to both of them, saying "Yung bunsong kaparid ni Jose Rizal, si Soledad, nagkaron siya ng anak. At yung anak po niya, pinakasalan ni General Miguel Malvar."

According to Therese, carrying the Malvar name brings with it a sense of pride. "Parang gusto ko galingan lagi sa mga ginagawa ko. Pati mga kapatid ko, gusto laging galingan, not because of the pressure but nai-inspire kami sa mga buhay ng great-great Lolo po namin," she said.

It is widely known that the Rizals and the Malvars were closely acquainted. In fact, the website on Miguel Malvar's life, Malvar.net, narrates how the eldest sister of Rizal even gave the revolutionary general one thousand pesos to start his business.
