Fete Dela Musique officially starts on June 16

Fete season is officially here!

Fete Dela Musique—the biggest, free, multi-stage, live music event in the Philippines—starts on June 16 with events all across the country.

The festival will once again feature the best and most diverse music artists from all over the country and across every genre.

The two-weekend-long event kicks off on June 16 with a music export conference by Sonik Philippines and Ministere de I’Europe et des Affaires Etrangeres at The Astbury in Makati.

Topics include playing in an international festival, growing music and fanbases in foreign markets, collaborating with artists from other countries, and many more.

Syd Hartha and Ena Mori are two of the performers. Registration is up on Sonik’s social media pages.

Meanwhile, 31 pocket stages will be set up on June 17 across Makati. Each stage has its own theme, such as emo, burlesque, extra funky, new wave, and many more.

“The idea being we can hop from one stage to another—different vibes, different crowd,”  Giselle Tomimbang, President of B-Side Productions and co-producer of Fête de la Musique, said at the press launch in Makati City on Thursday.

“And the cool thing is because a lot of the performers want to also see their friends, it really blurs the lines between performers and audience. [It’s really] an exciting communion of people,” she added.

The Remi Panossian Trio will perform a couple of shows — at the Long Bar in Raffles and at Alliance Francaise de Manille — before the Makati leg of Fete wraps up on June 23 with its main stage in Greenbelt.

Meanwhile, the main stages in Cebu and Siargao will take place on June 21, while Baler, Baguio, El Nido, Tagaytay, Zambales, Pampanga, Laguna, and Albay will experience their own main stages on June 24.

The 29th edition of Fete Dela Musique has the theme Mersea, a play on the French words mer (sea) merci (thank you”).

The event, which takes place during the Philippine'Environment Month, aims to raise funds and awareness for ocean conservation through the arts.

This is the second face-to-face event of Fete Dela Musique after the pandemic, following 2022’s edition.

See you at Fete!
