'About Us but Not About Us' bags 10 awards at the Summer MMFF
“About Us but Not About Us” was the big winner at the first Summer Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) Gabi ng Parangal, winning 10 awards out of 18.
The psychological drama was written and directed by Jun Lana, and stars Romnick Sarmenta and Elijah Canlas. It follows Eric (Romnick), a literature professor, and his student Lancelot (Elijah). The film happens through a conversation over a meal, where the two characters uncover secrets about trauma, love, sex, and even a death.
Romnick was named Best Actor, and Elijah was given the Special Jury Prize.
“About Us but Not About Us” also won Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Production Design, Best Editing, Best Musical Score, and Best Sound.
The board of jurors was headed by internationally-acclaimed actress Dolly De Leon.
