Taylor Swift cast a trans man as love interest in music video, 'Lavender Haze'
Taylor Swift recently released a music video for her song, "Lavender Haze," and in it, she cast a trans man, Laith Ashley, as her love interest.
On Instagram, she called Laith an "incredible co-star" who she "absolutely loved working with."
Also a model, Laith posted on Instagram, “Thank you @taylorswift for allowing me to play a small part in your story. You are brilliant and this is an experience I will never forget. It was truly magical.
"Your storytelling abilities through your music and visuals continues to leave me in awe, inspired, and hopeful. Thank you for being an ally.
"Representation matters. AND LOVE WILL ALWAYS WIN!"
GLAAD, the world’s largest Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) media advocacy organization, also gave their nod of approval in a tweet.
