Malabon Zoo holds animal Christmas party for fur babies, pet owners

Fur babies and pet owners visited the Malabon Zoo, Aquarium and Botanical Garden to join its annual Christmas party.

As seen in Katrina Son's report on "24 Oras Weekend," Sunday, dogs and cats went to the zoo dressed in Christmas costumes as they celebrated with other people and animals.

"For the last 20 years po Malabon Zoo has been having this annual animal Christmas party," said Malabon Zoo founder Manny Tangco.

"Animals are very important to Jesus Christ. When Jesus Christ was born, ang unang visitors niya are animals," he added.

An orangutan named Marimar was the brightest spot of the event as she gamely posed for photos with the attendees.

A lion cub named Kalikasan also captured the hearts of the participants, which includes street children.

"This Christmas, let us be thankful to all the animals because 365 days a year the animals provide us with food, clothing, and shelter," Tangco said.
