Beth Day Romulo dies at 98


Journalist and author Beth Day Romulo, widow of former foreign affairs secretary Carlos P. Romulo, died on Friday at the age of 98.
 
Maritina Romulo posted on Facebook about her grandmother's passing.

"Rest in peace, our dear grandmother Beth," she said. 
 
She said memorial services will be announced soon by the Carlos P. Romulo Foundation.
 
Maritina also asked the public to consider donating to the foundation instead of sending flowers.
 
Romulo was born in Indiana, United States, on May 25, 1924.

She previously worked as an associate editor of the Manila Bulletin and authored several books, including "Grizzlies in Their Backyard" and "The Writer, the Lover and the Diplomat." — with Sherylin Untalan/VBL, GMA Integrated News
