Cherie Gil's swan song 'Elehiya' to compete at QCinema International Film Festival

Cherie Gil's final film, "Elehiya," is set to compete in the Asian New Wave Section at QCinema International Film Festival on November 17 to 26.

Directed by Loy Arcenas, "Elehiya" follows the story of Dr. Celine de Miranda,  who attempts to escape the bitter memories of her late husband's infidelities.

Played by the late "La Primera Contravida," the grieving Celine gets involved with a young man who could turn out to be a bastard son of her husband.

Cherie passed away in August due to endometrial cancer. She was 59 years old.

She was known for her award-winning roles and memorable characters in numerous TV shows, films, and theater plays, including her iconic stint as Lavinia in "Bituing Walang Ningning."
