Julie Anne San Jose impresses with operatic version of ‘Ave Maria’ on ‘Maria Clara at Ibarra’
We all know Julie Anne San Jose is limitless when it comes to her singing, but it still came as a surprise to a lot of the public when she delivered an operatic version of a famous classic composition.
In an episode of “Maria Clara at Ibarra,” the Asia’s Limitless Star wowed with a performance of Charles Gounod's “Ave Maria” while playing the piano. Fun fact: the scene was shot at 8 a.m.
On Nelson Canlas’ “24 Oras” report Wednesday, Julie Anne admitted it was a challenging task.
“Kailangan iba yung placement niya. It’s far different from what I usually do sa [‘All Out Sundays’] at sa mga concerts. Mga classical yung kinakanta ko dito,” she said.
Julie Anne said more of her singing will be featured on the Kapuso primetime show.
Meanwhile, she’ll show a different side of her artistry in “JulieVerse,” her upcoming concert with Rayver Cruz.
"Maria Clara at Ibarra" also stars Dennis Trillo, David Licauco, and Barbie Forteza. It follows Klay, a Gen Z student who finds herself in the world of Jose Rizal's “Noli “Me Tangere and "El Filibusterismo."
It airs on GMA Telebabad on weekdays after "24 Oras." You can also watch the stream on YouTube and the full episodes on the GMA Network mobile app. — Franchesca Viernes/BM, GMA News
