4 Fernando Amorsolo paintings added to National Museum of the Philippines
Four paintings by national artist Fernando Amorsolo have been added to the National Museum of the Philippines.
In a Facebook post on Monday, the museum said the pieces were donated by the Judge Guillermo B. Guevara Foundation.
The paintings were "Wakas ni Magallanes" (1963), "Bataan" (1942), "Portrait of Judge Guillermo B. Guevara" (1950) and the "Assassination of Governor Bustamante" (1963). These four works were lent to the museum in 2020.
Amorsolo is the Philippines' first national artist. He is also known as the "Grand Old Man of Philippine Art."
His works were accepted on Friday by National Museum Director-General Jeremy Barns from the foundation's president, Victor Guevara, and his family.
The National Museum of the Philippines is open from Tuesdays to Sundays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
