What makes a progressive school, according to Ani Almario
Students at a progressive institution like The Raya School have the freedom to ask questions and discuss issues which affect their lives, school director Ani Almario said in the latest episode of The Howie Severino Podcast.
"May kalayaan ang mga bata na pag-usapan at magtanong tungkol sa mga isyu na may kaugnayan sa buhay nila. Kunwari 'yung mga teenager ngayon, malaking isyu ang sexuality, ang gender," Almario said.
"And I think Raya has given them a very, a big and open venue to talk about their ideas about gender and sexuality and to be very honest, about their feelings about these issues," she added.
Almario is also the publisher of Adarna Books.
"Ganyan kami sa halos lahat ng isyu. Whether pinag-uusapan dito ay gender, pinag-uusapan ay women's rights, pinag-uusapan ang pulitika, hanggang 'yung giyera sa Russia at Ukraine, 'yung various perspectives on it, malaya," Almario said.
"Malaya kang magtanong at malaya kang makipagdiskusyon," she added.
