"The Post Office honored Susan Roces, the Queen of Philippine Movies, as an Outstanding Filipino last February. Her memory will live on, and people will remember her for giving joy and pride to the nation through film and television," PHLPost meanwhile said in a Facebook post.
Roces was among those chosen for the new stamps of outstanding Filipinos, who have proven to be an inspiration in their respective fields.
Along with Roces are Nora Aunor, Gloria Romero, Rosa Rosal, and Vilma Santos; scientists Dr. Ernesto O. Domingo and Dr. Baldomero Olivera; and bowler Olivia “Bong” Coo and basketball player “El Presidente” Ramon Fernandez.
Roces passed away last Friday due to cardiac pulmonary arrest.
According to an Unang Balita report on Wednesday, her tomb is being readied, decorated, and arranged at the Poe family's mausoleum at the Manila North Cemetery.
The tomb of Roces, also known as the Queen of Philippine Movies, will be placed right next to the tomb of her husband, Fernando Poe Jr.
Relatives, friends and supporters continued to arrive at her wake at the Heritage Memorial Park in Taguig City.
Presumptive president Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and his wife Lisa Araneta Marcos on Tuesday night paid their last respects to Roces.
Her interment is scheduled on Thursday. — LA, GMA News
