Miss World Philippines 2021 Tracy Maureen Perez slays in 'Moon Goddess' national costume

Miss World Philippines 2021 Tracy Maureen Perez is slaying in her "Moon Goddess" national costume designed by Axel Que.

On Instagram, Tracy shared official photos of herself clad in a jaw-dropping costume brimming with embellishments in colors purple, pink, green, and gold.

The beauty queen said her costume is called "Mayari," who is a "Moon Goddess and daughter of Bathala."

"Hailed as the most beautiful deity, she has complete dominion of the world at night," her designer Axel wrote in the caption.

"The moon has been revered as a celestial being by most ancient civilizations in antiquity," Axel added. "Apart from its mysterious allure, it has also been though to have great cosmic influence on the mortal realm."

According to Axel, their rendition of the costume "incorporated a lot of traditional forms as the base silhouette, with slight exaggerations in the proportion and volume."

"For embellishment, I crafted white & purple moon flowers (morning glory/ moon vine) from scratch, and added the gradient shading in the middle to give it more depth," Axel added. "Pearls and tassels thoughtfully border the hemlines."

By the way, Axel also did Miss Universe Philippines 2021 Beatrice Luigi Gomez's much heralded Bakunawa costume.

Tracy's earrings was designed by Christopher Munar while her shoes were from Jojo Bragais.

Her whole look was styled by the Style It Team, her makeup was done by Japeth Mike Purog and hair by MJ Rone.

Meanwhile, the beautiful snapshots were taken by Mark Neto Diaz.

Tracy is currently in Puerto Rico competing for Miss World — and she looks like she's nailing it. She's already secured a spot in the Top 30 after winning the head to head challenge.
