Samantha Panlilio among the 10 candidates with highest votes for Best National Costume round

Philippine bet Samantha Panlilio was among the 10 candidates to receive the highest votes during Miss Grand International's best national costume round.

In a Facebook post on Friday, the Miss Grand International organization congratulated the 10 candidates, including Samantha, for receiving the highest score by vote in the preliminary round.

Joining Samantha with the highest votes are Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, and Miss Grand International Guatemala; Malaysia, Mexico, Spain, and Nigeria.

According to the pageant, voting for the top 5 National Costume will remain open and will later on be combined with the other five winners chosen by the judges.

During the preliminary round, Samantha wowed the audience when she emerged with her "Paruparo" national costume inspired by the festival held annually in her hometown of Dasmariñas, Cavite. The costume later on landed her in the Top 20 Best in National Costume round.

Samantha was crowned as the Binibining Pilipinas Grand International last July. She is currently in Thailand to compete for the Miss Grand International title and represent the country during the coronation night on December 4.

Should Samantha win, she will be the first ever Filipina to take home the crown.
