Filipino writer-director Janus Victoria's 'The Myth of Manila' wins 'Best Narrative Short' in Sharjah Art Foundation's annual film festival


Filipino writer-director Janus Victoria's "The Myth of Manila" has won the "Best Narrative Short" in Sharjah Art Foundation's annual film festival.

The news was announced on Sharjah Art Foundation's Facebook page on Sunday.

"The Myth of Manila" follows the trials of a reporter in pandemic-hit Manila by 2021 winner Janus Victoria. It stars Angeli Bayani and is co-produce by Project 8 Projects of Dan Villegas and Antoinette Jadaone. Neil Daza is the film's director of photography.

According to a press release, the film is supported by the foundation's Short Film Production Grant. 

"The Myth of Manila" also opened the Sharjah Art Foundation's annual film festival which took place on November 19 to 27, 2021.

Apart from directing documentaries for GMA News & Public Affairs shows like "i-Witness" Victoria has also spearheaded a few videos for GMA Digital, including serving as executive producer for "Share Ko Lang." She is also among the pioneering producers of "Need to Know" video series. —JAB, GMA News.
