Miss Universe Philippines Beatrice Gomez reveals beautiful meaning behind her cool armband tattoo

As a proudly bisexual beauty queen, athlete, model, and reservist of the Philippine Navy, Beatrice Gomez of Cebu is undoubtedly one of the coolest people ever to win the Miss Universe Philippines crown.

Fans were also wowed by her bad-ass move to walk the pageant stage in a stunning blue evening gown that showed off the cool tattoo on her right arm.

In an interview with "Unang Hirit," Beatrice said she had it done on her 23rd birthday and it signified her "blossoming into womanhood."

"It's an armband. Some say it represents death," she explained in Filipino.

"But to me, it represents the end of my being a girl and the cherry blossom detail is me becoming a woman."

Beatrice Gomez was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2021 in Bohol last week.

Not only did she make history as the first openly-queer candidate to win the title, she also blazed through the competition bagging Best in Swimsuit, Best in Evening Gown and several other special awards.

The athlete, model, and Navy reservist from Cebu City also gave an inspiring answer to the question: "If during your reign as Miss Universe Philippines things happen in your life that make you sad and uninspired, how would you be able to continue inspiring others?"

She answered: “It is very evident that all of us went through difficulties during this pandemic, but it is also proof that we are able to rise to the occasion. And if anything happened to me during my reign I will not give up and inspire others by rising to the problems that I am encountering and by inspiring them that whatever you’re going through you will be able to overcome it."
