Walis tambo, other Pinoy products fetch high prices in online platforms abroad

Apart from the bilao as "Bamboo Wall Art," it looks like more Filipino products are being sold online with expensive price tags.

According to Rida Reyes' report on "24 Oras," Monday, the good ol' reliable walis tambo from Baguio City costs $30 or almost P1,500 in an e-commerce platform.

Meanwhile, the Philippine Anahaw fan, known as the "abanico," is priced at P700.

A native bayong, which is usually used to carry items from markets, is also available but it costs over P2,000—pretty much the price of a whole box of groceries.

The huge wooden fork and spoon wall decoration, which is commonly seen in any household kitchen, is also up for grabs for P3,500.

If you enjoyed sungka when you were young, you may be shocked to know that one set costs P1,500 online.

The prices are very different from stores in the Philippines, probably because they have been imported abroad.

In Quiapo, a bilao costs P25-P45 while walis tambo is priced P150-P250. You can also buy a bayong for P50-P100, decorative giant spoon and fork for P500, and sungka for P180-P200.
