Confirmation of 100 candidates among activities for 500 years of Christianity celebration in Cebu
About 100 persons underwent the Sacrament of Confirmation on Monday held at the National Shrine of St. Joseph in Mandaue City, Cebu.
The rites that were livestreamed via the official Facebook account of the Archdiocese of Cebu were led by Palo Archbishop John Du, Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma, and Cebu Auxiliary Bishop Midyphil Billones.
The day before, about 100 people were baptized at the Archdiocesan Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Cebu City.
The activities are part of the week-long celebration of the 500 years of Christianity in the Philippines.
On Tuesday, mass baptism of adults will be held at the Archdiocesan Shrine of Our Lady of the Rule in Lapu-Lapu City.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday Papal Nuncio Charles Brown will lead the pontifical mass that will be held in front of the Magellan's Cross in Cebu City.
There will be a re-enactment of the first baptism and the declaration of the Basilica of the Sto. Nino and the image of the Holy Child as national cultural treasures. -- BAP, GMA News
