Gloria Romero receives ‘Ilaw ng Industriya Award’ at 5th Film Ambassadors Night

Film legend Gloria Romero on Sunday night received the “Ilaw ng Industriya Award” at the 5th Film Ambassadors Night (FAN) 2021.

She received the award for serving as a “veritable matriarch” to the film industry and an inspiration to generations of film actors.

“I told her about it. She was so happy [that] up to now, nire-recognize pa raw siya. Forever, I think she would treasure this,” said Gloria's daughter Maritess Guiterrez.

“Maraming maraming salamat sa award na iginawad niyo sa akin,” Gloria added in a video message.

Acclaimed cinematographer Romy Vitug, meanwhile, received the Haligi ng Industriya Award.

Kapuso documentaries and actors were also recognized for their exemplary work in the film industry.

FAN is an annual event spearheaded by the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), which recognizes Filipino filmmakers, actors and movies whose international victories have brought honor to the country.
