Binibining Pilipinas kickstarts its return with national costume photo exhibit

The Binibining Pilipinas season is officially on and it's opening this year with a national costume exhibit.

On Instagram, BBP announced that they will be holding an exhibit, displaying photos of their candidates clad in their national costumes.

"Let’s officially open the Binibining Pilipinas season with this year’s national costume exhibit!" The caption of the post read.

According to BBP, the photo exhibit will happen at the Gateway Mall from January 22 to 31 and at Ali Mall Araneta CIty on February 1 to 14.

In photos, the candidates are clad "in their magnificent outfits created with modern touches by Filipino designers."

BBP said "this is an opportunity for all the fans and supporters to have a better and closer look of the marvelous costumes as we pay tribute to the country’s heritage and cultural diversity."

In a Facebook commentary session of the candidates' national costume last Friday, Binibining Pilipinas International Patch Magtanong read a letter from BPCI chairperson Stella Araneta confirming that the coronation night will be held on April 17.

After postponing its pageant last year amid the pandemic, the BPCI announced on social media last week that it will be pushing through with its activities this year.

While the BPCI lost the Miss Universe franchise in 2019 — Gazini Ganados was the last Bb. Pilipinas Universe crowned under its helm — it continues to have the Miss International, Miss Globe, Miss Intercontinental, and the Grand International beauty pageants under its belt. — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LA, GMA News
