CCP closes 50th anniversary celebration with lights and sound show
The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) has closed its 50th anniversary celebration with a colorful lights and sound show.
According to Jamie Santos’ report on “24 Oras” Wednesday, the show featured images and intricate designs projected on the façade of the CCP Main Theater while Ryan Cayabyab’s music played in the background.
“Dahil nga sa COVID mas kailangan natin gawing mas realistic ang ating plano,” said CCP artistic director Chris Millado.
“Kung bakit light and sound show, dahil nga sa idea ng light ... kultura natin makita sa simbolo, sa ating watawat, na ang sinag ay ang ilaw na nanggagaling sa ating kalooban ng Pilipino.”
The light, projection, and sound spectacle titled “Sinag 2020” also lit the fountain in front of the building as seen in these photos by Danny Pata.
The show, Millado said, also marked the start of the Christmas celebration.
“Since tayo ’yung kinilalang pinakamahabang pagdiwang ng kapaskuhan sa buong mundo, minabuti din namin ang pag-ilaw ng CCP sa pamamagitan ng nitong light and sound spectacle,” he added.
With mass gatherings still prohibited, CCP made the lights and sound show available for viewing on its Facebook page. – Kaela Malig/RC, GMA News
