Joey de Leon proudly shows his quarantine paintings
Joey de Leon has been keeping himself busy through the quarantine period. But unlike most people who turned to baking and making Dalgona coffee, the Eat Bulaga host turned to painting as his hobby.
On Instagram, the Joey shared a few photos of his quarantine- and pandemic- related paintings.
One them featured an image of a mother breastfeeding her child, with half of her bra used as a mask. He called it "Pandemilk."
Another post showed three canvasses with the original Dabarkads saying, "Ang Poet Nyo's 'Face Mask...Serious?'," obviously a play on the series/serious sound.
Speaking to GMA News Online on the occasion of Eat Bulaga's 40th anniversary, Joey said he was able to come up with the title of the longest running noontime show because he liked word play.
"I was in the kitchen of Tito Sotto in White Plains, when biglang pumasok sa isip ko, ‘Kailangan tungkol sa lunch.’ So naisip ko, ‘Eat.’ But paano ngayon ang play ng words? Mahilig ako sa play of words — I read words left to right, right to left," he shared.
His creativity, clearly, peaked while on lockdown. — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LA, GMA News
