Banksy reveals new COVID-inspired art on UK Tube

Banksy, an anonymous UK-based street artist, revealed some new COVID-inpired works he did on the London Underground railway system.

As seen in a video posted on his Instagram, the artist entered a train car and stencilled some rat-themed art encouraging passengers to wear masks.

One rodent appeared to be sneezing and spraying “fluids” all over a train window, while some appeared to be skydiving while using masks as a parachute.

“If You Don’t Mask, You Don’t Get,” Banksy captioned his post.

As “Tubthumping” by Chumbawamba plays in the background, the video shows some graffiti on a platform wall saying “I get lockdown.”

And from inside the train, the closing doors would bear another phrase saying “but I get back up,” featuring two rodents reaching out to one another — a play on the Chumbawamba 1997 hit.

According to BBC News on Wednesday, Transport for London (TfL) said the Banksy art has been removed "some days ago" in line with its "strict anti-graffiti policy"

Nevertheless, the artist has created several other COVID-19 and National Health Service-related (NHS) public artworks in town since the lockdown. — Margaret Claire Layug/LA, GMA News
