Cinemalaya 2020 announces finalists for short feature category

Cinemalaya is going online this year, and the festival has announced their first round of finalists.

The finalists for the 2020 Cinemalaya short feature category, as announced by the festival’s official IG account, are as follows:

• “Ang Gasgas na Plaka ni Lolo Bert” by Janina Gacosta and Cheska Marfori
• “Ang Pagkamalas sa Unos” by Joanna Vasquez Arong
• “Excuse Me Miss, Miss, Miss” by Sonny Calvento
• “Fatigued” by James Mayo
• “Living Things” by Martika Ramirez Escobar
• “Pabasa Kan Pasyon,” by Hubert Tibi
• “Quing Lalam Ning Aldo” by Reeden Fajardo
• “The Slums” by Jan Andrei Cobey
• “Tokwifi” by Carla Pulido Ocampo

Back in May, Cinemalaya had announced that this year’s festival and film competition is shifting online as large gatherings have been discouraged due to the COVID-19 situation in the country.

Based on the latest announcement posted Sunday, the Cinemalaya Online Short Film Festival is happening on August 7-16, 2020.
