Pixar Studios honors COVID-19 frontliners with 'mano po' drawing

Pixar Studios honored all the frontliners battling against the ongoing coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) with a Filpino-inspired "mano po" drawing.

Posted on Instagram Wednesday, the drawing featured a floating little boy doing the gesture of "mano po" to a doctor in front of him.

"THANK YOU to all #HealthcareWorkers #EssentialWorkers #Frontlineworkers for being out there, saving lives and helping us through this Pandemic," read a portion of the caption.

The Pixar post is a regram from Bobby Rubio, the Filipino director of Pixar's short film "Float."

According to Bobby, he too had family and friends who risked their lives everyday just to help out.

"I want you to know it is much appreciated," he added. "#ManoPo is an honoring gesture used in the #Filipino culture. I honor ALL you #Frontline heroes!"

As of Wednesday, a total of 2,571,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases have been recorded around the world, with over 177,800 people dead due to the disease.

Meanwhile, the Philippines has recorded over 6,710 cases with 446 deaths and 693 recoveries. — Kaela Malig/LA, GMA News
