Miss Universe Philippines shares photo of beauty queen hopefuls during final screening

Miss Universe Philippines shared a photo of "incredibly beautiful and smart women" attendees during Saturday's final screening on social media.

According to the organization, the 29 hopefuls at the final screening will still be joined by more contestants nominated by accredited partners on February 10.

"From there, the final contestants of the first ever Miss Universe Philippines Pageant will be determined. Watch this space!" they wrote on Facebook.

Volleyball player and Miss Globe Philippines 2018 Michele Gumabao and Sorsogon beauty queen Maria Isabela Galeria were at the final screening.

Shortly after the Miss Universe 2019 competition in Atlanta, Georgia in December, the newly created Miss Universe Philippines announced it will take over the prestigious pageant from the Araneta group and Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc., ending 55 years of partnership. — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LA, GMA News
