You can now explore the dungeons in Fort Santiago

Intramuros has opened the gates of Fort Santiago's dungeons to the public.

From 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. every day, visitors can explore what used to be the storage vaults and powder magazine of the Baluarte de Santa Barbara, a stone bastion built in 1592 also located in the Fort.

During the World War II, the Japanese took over Fort Santiago and used the dungeons to imprison resistance fighters and political prisoners.

The entrance to Fort Santiago is P75 for adults, and P50 for students, senior citizens, and persons with disability (PWD).
