The Adarna's song is a song of nature and is believed to cure any illness. "I chose to be the Adarna because I believe its story reaffirms the importance of nature in our lives. More than being just a legendary conquest in Philippine folklore, the Ibong Adarna was a mythical creature whose songs could cure any kind of illness, the post read.

"I chose to be the Adarna because I believe its story reaffirms the importance of nature in our lives. By embodying the Adarna, I hope to be a living reminder that we all bear the responsibility to take care of the environment not just as a member of the Hispanic community but as a citizen of the world," Katrina was quoted as saying.

Katrina will be competing in the prestigious pageant on February 8, Saturday, in Bolivia.

She is hoping to be the second Filipina to win the Reina Hispanoamericana title, after Winwyn Marquez took home the crown in 2017.
