Mayon snapshot bags first place in Germany awards

A photograph of a woman diving with the Mount Mayon as a backdrop bagged first place under the Lifestyle category of the 2019 PR-Bild Awards in Hamburg, Germany.

Taken by photographer Per-Andre Hoffman, the photo exhibited the country's fun lifestyle with the photo called, "Volcanic Life / It's More Fun in the Philippines."

According to the images on PR-Bild's website under the lifestyle category, photographs should "depict today's life in all its different facets."

Meanwhile, another photograph by Hoffman placed third under the stories and campaigns category.

The photograph, "Ten generations under one roof", showed two Filipinos supposedly sitting with the bones of their ancestors under a nipa hut.

Categories of the PR-Bild Awards include portrait, non-governmental organization photo, social media photo, stories and campaigns, lifestyle, and to travel.

According to its website, a jury composed of 20 members selected 60 motiff from over 600 photos from the submissions on shortlist where over 14,000 individuals then voted publicly on the photo. — BAP, GMA News
