Manila Symphony Orchestra performs at ‘Harana Para Kay Rizal’ concert

The Manila Symphony Orchestra on Monday serenaded park-goers in the "Jose Rizal: Huwaran ng Pilipino sa Ikadalawampu't Isang Siglo, a special Harana Para Kay Rizal" concert at the Rizal Park in Manila.

In commemoration of the 123rd anniversary of Dr. Jose Rizal's martyrdom, the MSO performed various songs, with the popular Christmas song "Ang Pasko Ay Sumapit" being their last showcase, accompanied by a fireworks display.

The outdoor concert, with the Rizal Monument as the backdrop of the event, was hosted by historian Xiao Chua.

Aside from the Manila Symphony Orchestra, who performed under the baton of Maestro Jeffrey Solares, Jose Rizal University's Teatro Rizal also showcased its talent.

A lights and sounds showcase from the Rizal Park's Musical Dancing Fountain also capped off the concert. — Ma. Angelica Garcia/BM, GMA News
