Gazini makes it to the Top 20 of Miss Universe!
Gazini Ganados made it to the Top 20 of Miss Universe 2019!
The Philippine bet was not among the five candidates called from Asia Pacific and Africa to advance in the semi finals.
Instead, Gazini was the first to be called in the wild card.

During her short interview, host Steve Harvey asked Gazini about her five names.
Her answer:
Well Steve, my mom named me Gazini Christiana Jordi Acopiado Ganados. Three of those is my first name Gazini means Gazan which is from my dad's name; Christiana because I was actually born after Christmas. I'm December 26, so what you guys don't know is this is a great opportunity for me to shout out to all my friends and family who gives me one gift on Christmas and on my birthday. Steve, I only want one gift this Christmas and my birthday and I think you already know about that.
The selection committee chose five candidates form each continent (Africa and Asia Pacific, The Americas, and Europe) and five candidates selected for the wild card category.
The selection committee for the 68th Miss Universe competition are Paulina Vega, Sazan Hendrix, Cara Mund, Bozoma Saint John, Riyo Mori, Crystle Stewart and Gaby Espino.

Gazini hopes to earn a back-to-back win for the Philippines in the Miss Universe competition.
Her fellow Filipina Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray will be turning over her crown to the next deserving queen.
Other Filipinas who earned the crown the previous years include Pia Wurtzbach (2015), Gloria Diaz (1969) and Margarita Moran (1973).
