There’s a new Miss Universe crown and here is everything you need to know about it

There’s going to be a new Miss Universe come Monday morning (Manila time) and over the weekend, the organization unveiled a new crown it will bestow upon Catriona Gray’s successor.

The crown is called “Power in Unity,” it’s inspired by nature, strength, beauty, feminity, and unity, and it’s made by jewelry house Mouawad.

On social media, Mouawad shared everything you need to know about it, starting with the beautiful 62.83 carat golden canary diamond at the center of it. There are two more stones flanking it, and according to Alain Mouawad, the co-guardian of the watch division of Mouawad, all three were cut from the same stone in Botswana.

The crown looks as though it was shaped from studded vines. It’s a nod to nature as an inspiration and according to Fred Mouawad, co-guardian of the diamond division of the company, “is meant to represent the communities of women from around the world whose bonds unite them and reminds us we are stronger together than apart.”

Meanwhile, the name, “Power in Unity” celebrates the woman “for being complex, diverse, unapologetically ambitious, and strong,” Fred said.

According to Pascal Mouawad, “our challenge of crafting the extraordinary was to embrace the values of miss universe and translate them into a diamond studded crown that represents ambition, diversity, community, and beauty.”

The crown celebrates women’s inner strength, and reminds us that in unity lies power.
