How Pia’s remarkable Madame Tussauds wax figure was made: standing for hours, smiling her best, and using a Mikimoto crown
At the unveiling of her Madame Tussauds wax figure, Pia Wurtzbach shared a few details on how it was made.
According to Pia, she stood for four hours holding the pose to help make the final output of her wax figure more realistic.
“I was standing there with the pose for a few hours, but it’s fine no problem, I think it was about 4 hours, so ok lang,” Pia said.

The permanence of the wax figure was not lost on her so Pia really made sure to give it her best smile. “I was thinking, okay, this has to be my best smile because hindi na mababago ‘to. ‘Yung smile ko na to, yun na yun. So they got everything correct, makikita mo parang may veins pa siya,” she said.
Pia said they also had to check every inch of her hair and consult her dentist for her dental impression to make it her face look more real.

“Lumabas kami sa natural light, kasi iba pala yung color ng hair natin sa harap, sa likod, sa ilalim. Lahat yun, tiningnan nila, pati yung color ng mata ko, tinignan sa natural light. Kinuha talaga yung exact [even] sa teeth, kinuha nila yung dental impression ko sa dentist ko. Sobrang sakto talaga siya,” Pia said.
Pia explained the reason why they used the Mikimoto crown instead of the DIC crown which Pia had during her reign.
“I actually called Esther last night. Anong sasabihin ko ganyan? From now on kasi Mikimoto crown na yung official crown ng Miss Universe na gagamitin so they approved this crown,“ she explained.
