PDEA: Pasion’s party drugs came from Netherlands, other parts of Europe through ‘dark web’
The Philippine Drug and Enforcement Agency (PDEA) has revealed that slain big-time supplier John Steven Pasion sold party drugs that came from The Netherlands and other parts of Europe, and transacted via the "dark web."
PDEA has declared the case of Pasion, who is considered the top supplier of party drugs in Metro Manila, as "case closed," according to a News To Go report by Mariz Umali.
"The party drugs are transacted online and this probably explains the difficulty in detection kasi kung katulad po niyan, if they use the dark web and use online currency to transact, mahirap po kasi itong i-trace," PDEA spokesperson Derrick Carreon said.
The dark web is a collection of websites that exist on an encrypted or a hidden network that cannot be found through traditional search engines or visited using traditional browsers.
PDEA disclosed that the ecstasy tablets came from The Netherlands, while the liquid ecstasy allegedly supplied by Pasion came from another part of Europe.
The investigation continues on how Pasion was able to smuggle the drugs into the country on a weekly basis in the first quarter of 2018.

"'Yung pag-smuggle in po nila most likely would be through the mail and parcel systems," Carreon further revealed.
PDEA has coordinated with postal service and courier service providers on suspicious parcels or deliveries made by Pasion.
PDEA's technical intelligence is also tracing the transactions in the dark web to find out those who are behind the deals.
PDEA earlier revealed they have long been suspecting two local celebrities whom they refused to name, who are using party drugs.
Their suspicion was further bolstered after the names were seen in the cellphone of Pasion.
One artist even ordered 200 ecstasy tablets.
"Based on the text messages that we extracted from his cellphone, dalawa, dalawang artista. Matagal na din tayong may reports na involved sila," said PDEA Special Enforcement Service director Levi Ortiz.
The case build-up for the two celebrities continues to further strengthen the case against them.
The PDEA is also monitoring who could possibly have taken Pasion's place as the new supplier of party drugs.
