DOT introduces 'Barabara,' a new tourism font inspired by local signs
By JANNIELYN ANN BIGTAS, GMA News
The Department of Tourism on Monday introduced a new tourism font called Barabara.
In a hip and artsy video posted on DOT's Facebook page, they said the font took inspiration from local signs seen in the country's streets, jeepneys, and sandy beaches.
"Signs from streets to sandy beaches, hand-painted in an exact individual style that inspired our new tourism font called Barabara," the video read.
Barabara has 27 characters and comes complete with local symbols.
Saying it was "designed to be easier to read just for you," DOT described Barabara as, "a more fun more Pinoy typeface celebrating sign-painters all over the country."
Barabara is free to download. Check it out on DOT's website. — LA, GMA News
