Catriona Gray explains her hand movements during the National Costume dance
Recently crowned Miss Universe Catriona Gray on Wednesday explained and demonstrated the hand gestures she made during the pageant's National Costume competition.
Catriona's costume for the competition had captured many Filipinos' attention as it placed the country's cultures in the spotlight.
Her body suit depicted tattoos worn by Visayan warriors and she drew from the Inaul, Yakan, Maranao, B'laan, Bagobo, Tausug and T'nalak for her accessories. A giant parol also accompanied her down the runway.
Now it appears that Catriona's dance during her presentation, particularly her hand movements, also represented Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
She made the revelation during the plane ride headed back to the Philippines.
Catriona has returned home after spending weeks in Bangkok, Thailand for the 67th Miss Universe pageant.
