2 GMA productions to be screened at Never Forget Film Festival next month
Two GMA News & Public Affairs productions will be screened at a film festival that puts the focus on Filipinos' struggles during the Martial Law years.
At the month-long Never Forget Film Festival (NFFF) this September, "Multo ng Nakaraan" by Howie Severino and "Alaala: The Bonifacio Ilagan Story" by Adolfo Alix, Jr., starring Alden Richards, were chosen as part of the line-up.
In "Multo ng Nakaraan", Severino explores what has become known as the "tomb of unknown workers," the Manila Film Center.
The documentary tries to find out what transpired the night a scaffolding collapsed during the height of the building's construction amid the media censorship in the Martial Law years.
In "Alaala," Richards relives the capture and torture of Bonifacio Ilagan, or Boni, under the hands of the Philippine Constabulary.
The short film was written by Boni himself, now an award-winning screenwriter.
The NFFF will be held at Cinema Centenario, located along Maginhawa corner Magiting Streets in Quezon City, for the whole of September. — Jessica Bartolome/BM, GMA News
