New X-Men movie ‘The New Mutants’ goes full horror

The latest addition to the "X-Men" movie franchise set itself apart with the release of its first official trailer — the mood is more slasher than superhero. 

"The New Mutants", based on a spin-off comic book series from the '80s, follows the story of Magik (Anya Taylor-Joy), Wolfsbane (Maisie Williams), Cannonball (Charlie Heaton), Sunspot (Henry Zaga), and Mirage (Blu Hunt) — mutants trapped in a secret government facility, from which they clearly need to break out. 

Josh Boone directs the screenplay he co-wrote with Knate Lee.
