‘Fly Me to the Moon’ explores the tragedy of falling in love

In "Fly Me to the Moon", love is feeling that invites peril.

Penned by Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature Hall of Famer Rody Vera, the play follows the story of Melanie, a bright-eyed transgender woman who wants to find a better life in Japan. Aboard a ship she meets Jo, also known as Karayuki-san, who yearns for her great love, Ibrahim.

On the ship, the two draw parallels between their lives as they unfold their own stories. Soon, Melanie and Jo part ways to follow their own pavement, but still keep a piece of each other’s heart.

Jo / Karayuki-san is alternately played by Fatima Cadiz and Dea Formacil. Melanie is alternately played by Aldy Cadupay, Ai Hose Ki, and Xosh Ardio.

Joining them are Clifford Gonzales, Ar Ar Ramillo, and BJ Campo, sharing the role of Ibrahim. Manu Gallardo and Jun Nayra play the Captain.
