Disney-Pixar releases exclusive art of the jeepney as a ‘Cars’ character
The jeepney's status as the "King of the Road" seems to be up for debate recently, but its status as an icon is unquestionable. This week, it earned another nod, this time from Disney-Pixar.
The studio has released an exclusive artwork for the Philippines that shows how the good old jeep would look as a character from "Cars."
Michael Daley, a story artist at Pixar Animation Studios, drew the vehicle with an orange body and a blue hood, with purple details — and stars, naturally.
Daley worked on visualizing the script into panels of drawings for "Cars 3."
Filipino artists Nelson Bohol and Paul Abadilla also worked on the film, as set designer artist and sketch/environment artist, respectively.
